A suspect is in police custody mere moments after allegedly setting fire to Carnival booths owned by the National Carnival Commission (NCC) at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Tuesday afternoon.
Quick response by law enforcement officers led to the suspect from McShine Lane, Belmont being taken into custody.
Police and fire officers responded within minutes of receiving a report of a suspected arson attack.
The blaze was quickly extinguished, but not before the destruction of several booths facing the National Academy for the Performing Arts.
The suspect was taken to the Four Roads, Diego Martin police station for questioning.
